Watercolour Painting with Jasmine Jan

During this fun and informative workshop Jasmine will guide students through the many and varied techniques of watercolour painting. A series of paintings will be completed during the course of this workshop. Beginners and advance welcome.

A Short Fused Workshop (Kiln Formed Glass) with Jon Firth

The aim of this course is to impart to students the basics of kiln formed glass. Information handouts will be kept to a minimum, and students should be prepared to take notes

Course Outline:
The aim of this course is to impart to students the basics of kiln formed glass. Information handouts will be kept to a minimum, and students should be prepared to take notes.

Friday Night: Slide show and discussion of the basic principles of glass fusing. Instruction in the use of basic glass tools. Unless you are a continuing warm glass student you must attend on the first night.

Saturday: Selection of forms, preparation of kiln shelves. Cut and assemble glass for first project. Fire kilns. Demonstration of the technique of glass combing.

Sunday: Remove first project from kiln. Prepare second project and load first and second projects into kiln. Fire kiln for second stage. Demonstration of vase making. Further discussion and demonstration of various techniques used in the practice of kiln formed glass.
A post mortem will be held on the day following the completion of the course at a time to be advised by Territory Craft.

Students will require an oil filled glass cutter available from Unicorn Glass Studio, 1/9 De Latour Street, Coconut Grove at a cost of $25-$50. Phone Jon on 8948 1177 to arrange this.

Students to Bring: Pen, pencil & note paper, fine felt pen, a clean cotton rag (such as an old T shirt), an old newspaper and an oil filled glass cutter.

Well known local Artist Jasmine Jan has a wide range of experience and knowledge, which she is keen to pass on to interested participants. During this fun and informative workshop Jasmine will guide students through the many and varied techniques of watercolour painting. A series of paintings will be completed during the course of this workshop. Beginners to advanced students are welcome.

Darwin Division of Territory Craft has a number of fully equipped studios where workshops and classes are conducted. Our Tutors are all professional craftspeople who bring to Territory Craft a wealth of experience and undeniable talent.

The workshops aim to impart to students skills and techniques to allow them to begin executing projects straight away.
